We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead our expansion efforts in East Africa. As a key member of our regional leadership team, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth across the East African market. Your role will be pivotal in establishing our presence and scaling our operations in this vibrant and diverse region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Expansion: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to establish and grow our market presence in East Africa.

  • Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business opportunities.

  • Sales Leadership: Lead the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation and proposal development to contract negotiation and closure.

  • Market Intelligence: Conduct thorough market research to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product, and customer success, to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.

  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on progress against targets, adjusting strategies as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the technology sector, with a proven track record of achieving growth targets.

  • Regional Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the East African market, including cultural, economic, and regulatory nuances.

  • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within the East African region as required.

Compensation

  • Annual Salary: USD 80,000 – USD 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
