Position Overview
As the Senior IT Manager, you will be responsible for leading the IT department’s strategic planning and operational execution in East Africa. Your role will encompass overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring that technology systems and procedures lead to outcomes in line with business goals. You will collaborate with global IT teams to align regional initiatives with the company’s overall technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic IT Leadership: Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and support regional growth.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems, including networks, servers, and applications, ensuring high availability and security.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the IT department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial targets.Qcin
- Compliance and Security: Ensure all IT operations adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, implementing robust cybersecurity measures.
- Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with external IT service providers and vendors.
- Project Management: Lead IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to identify technology needs and provide solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in IT management roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position overseeing regional operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network architecture, cloud computing, and cybersecurity practices.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage cross-functional projects, and drive organizational change.
- Analytical Thinking: Excellent problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Experience working in dynamic environments and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary: USD 90,000 – USD 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
